Greensboro, North Carolina, has a new voice representing the Underground Bowling Association, and he’s bringing plenty of energy, passion, and a little bit of that “Stay Dangerous” attitude with him!
Meet Gerald Burton, better known throughout the bowling community as G, Geezy, or G Money, the newest UBA Brand Ambassador!
Although Gerald has only been bowling for four years, he’s already made quite an impact. His journey into the sport started through his career in sales when Triad Lanes became one of his customers. It was there that Bob Marino invited him to join a league, and what started as an invitation quickly turned into a passion. Since then, Gerald has put together an impressive bowling resume, including FOUR perfect 300 games and a high series of 787.
One of his proudest accomplishments came when he captured both the Triad District Championship and Team Rankings in the same year! But Gerald isn’t finished yet. His biggest goal is to become more consistent and, most importantly, lead his franchise, Stay Dangerous, all the way to the top!
For Gerald, the UBA is about much more than bowling. After nearly four years in the organization, he says it’s the energy, environment, and relationships that make it unlike anything else in the bowling world. One of his favorite memories is defeating NWO for the District Championship, while his favorite event is UNHOLY, which he describes as an event with incredible energy.
The UBA has also brought some special people into his life. Gerald credits his Stay Dangerous family for having the biggest impact on his journey, and along the way, he even found something beyond bowling — his future wife, Rachel Marino!
When he’s not on the lanes, Gerald enjoys spending time with family. And here’s something many may not know: before bowling, he was a Top 20 high school basketball player in Guilford County back in 2006. Apparently, competition has always been part of his DNA!
As a Storm Bowling fan, Gerald’s go-to ball is the IQ Ruby, which he loves for its consistency and predictability. And when it comes to bowling against someone from the past, he’d choose none other than Pete Weber, because, as Gerald puts it, Pete has that same “Stay Dangerous” energy.
Now, as a UBA Brand Ambassador, Gerald is excited to help grow the organization and keep it at the top of the bowling world. His message to anyone who hasn’t experienced the UBA? If league bowling is getting boring and you’re ready to showcase your skills on a bigger stage, it’s time to join a team!
