Battle Bowl Wrap-Up from Tynell Tate

VERY long post alert – CEO Battle Bowl XV recap

1. I would like to thank all members who attended Battle Bowl XV for the great experience whether it was to compete on the lanes or spectate and get a visual of that UBA Culture. It was great meeting new members and putting names to faces.

2, A huge shout out goes to our newly crowned UBA World Champions Str8 Bizness Cartel (SBC). A well deserved & long overdue win for the SBC family. With their win, they should now be in the running for a Hall of Fame induction. I am very proud of Darnell Bell & what he’s done with SBC.

3. Congratulations to all that were inducted into the Hall of Fame Class of 2024, Each inductee has proven to the UBA & themselves that they deserve the recognition due to their hard work on & off the lanes & supporting the UBA at their fullest, especially my UBA Franchise BC Crew who was inducted for Superior Team Performance. After an eleven year drought without an Elite 8 appearance, 2024 has been great to us and we have been blessed with a district win which was due to better team chemistry, & great leadership. That is what it takes to be a great franchise. With having a fast start after our UBA debut & falling into a long drought, it has been proven that BC Crew will always be a factor.

4. Congratulations to all World Championship Series Winners (WCS). We are looking forward to the great changes made to the WCS and cannot wait to see where the series takes us.

5. Staffing: To Silk Reign (Silk Nixon) & the rest of my staff & management team who did a great job this weekend. This year was a bit challenging but a little peaceful for me (work wise) because Saturday was the ONLY day I was at the alley ALL DAY (IYKYK). Why? Because I am learning how to trust my staff & not look over their shoulders every chance I get. My team is only getting stronger. Teamwork makes the dream work all day everyday.

6. Bowlerama Staff: Jeff Benson is unbelievable. The UBA is very pleased to call Bowlerama the Home of the UBA for the past 2 seasons and many more seasons to come. So Jeff special thanks to you & your staff. Wilmington staff, you are appreciated as well. As I did not make it over to Wilmington to get a personal experience, I can only thank them for their hospitality & accommodating the UBA in the best way they could.

7. Storm: It was an honor to have Anthony Simonsen at Battle Bowl XV. He did what he was sent to do and that is put on a show. So Anthony we thank you & you are always welcomed with open arms. Welcome to the UBA Family. To Chris Schlemer, Gary Hulsenberg, & Leanne Hulsenberg, a special thanks goes out to you 3 as well. Your generous gifts for our members & visits to Battle Bowl year after year are much appreciated.

8. Bowlifi: I had the pleasure of meeting & talking business with Bowlifi owner Steve Fairchild. Steve, thank you for welcoming the UBA into the Bowlifi family. We are pleased to do business with Bowlifi and we cannot wait until this product jumps off. To those who had a hand in making this happen, great job.

9. Last but not least I would like to thank Phil Chance for trusting me with this company that we both built to where it is currently. Without the opportunity, I don’t believe I would be this interested in bowling entertainment and definitely would not have met some great people that I am proud to call fellow UBA members & my extended bowling family.

Personal: Pretty much everyone knows that my birthday (8/10) falls on Battle Bowl weekend each year. While trying to enjoy it with my extended bowling family, things tend to get intense between myself & members with minor disagreements. Aside from stressing with members (included in my job description), things also got out of hand with my family. I am referring to my wife Charlie Davis-Tate. To those who watched me get out of character, I want to truly apologize for those actions but most importantly, I am sending a public apology to my wife for my actions that took place. A part of me wants to blame the alcohol that was shoved at me every hour on the hour but even being a little under the influence, I knew something was not right and what happened was wrong. Thank you to everyone that wished me Happy Birthday & bought me drinks. Every year, Battle Bowl feels like an all inclusive weekend

On that note, we are good, I am resting, & now preparing for the 2024/2025 UBA season.
