In Hollywood, there’s a famous phrase called ‘Hurry Up and Wait’. from March to mid-June there’s been a lot of waiting. Now that business has started to pick up, there’s going to be a lot of information that will be sent out very quickly. once we at UBA Today get the info, we’ll be sharing it with you – in addition to all of our other goodies.
Speaking of which: let’s go.
1. The Commissioner has spoken
UBA Commissioner Tom Twist had a very fun interview on The Morning Bolt (Sponsored by Storm). You can hear the interview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXoDdeYjySo
2. BATTLE BOWL XI ANNOUNCED
We don’t know that much about it. Yet. But we do know that as of right now, it’s going to happen during the weekend of August 28-30 at Bowlerama in Delaware. There will be eight squads, and while everything is at a touch and go state, you can assume that there’s going to be a lot of interest from the UBA members that have been itching to throw shots down the lane.
3. CT and PA open for business
Alleys in CT and PA are now open for business, and based on what has been seen on socia media, business is booming. Add the numbers still coming in from Bowlerama, and it looks like that the alleys were sorely missed during the past 3 months and the reunion is overwhelming.
4. NJ and NY close?
NJ was ‘supposed’ to have opened up on June 22, but it looks like they will be pushed back until the July 4th weekend. Phase 2 in NY starts this week, but Alleys are not included in said phase. So if you’re in NY and want to bowl, you need to migrate to another state.
5. It’s still Opt Out Season – with some surprises already
This will be discussed more in-depth in July, but there’s been a bunch of new surprises. The strong are getting stronger and teams with early exits are looking to solidify their weaknesses. There’s still over a week left to go, so expect more surprises.
