METRO NORTH 2023-2024 SEASON TOUR STOP #10 PREDICTIONS
This Sunday the Metro North heads out to my neck of the woods, with matches taking place at Sportsmans Bowl here in Schenectady. Last season bowlers seemed to enjoy this stop – we have a little more hook out this way compared to the typical house shot laid down at most of the other centers our season tour stops are bowled in. And while the long commute does suck, keep in mind that some of us do this 10 plus times a season and that in fact it could be worse – you could be sitting in traffic on the LIE instead. So, let’s look at the matchups for this weekend:
Area 51-8 (9th | 161-199) vs Team Beloved (12th | 70-290)
Not much to say here – it’s our home stop and we really need a win to save our season. I know someone voiced concerns about our lineup so hopefully we don’t disappoint the masses.
Prediction: Area 51-8. Guys there really is no excuse if we lose this one. And we’re going to be treating Beloved as if they were in first place, so no disrespect intended with that statement.
Devilz Rejects (7th | 172-188) vs The Tribe (3rd | 225-135)
Tribe is finally looking like Tribe again, but Devilz Rejects doesn’t look like Devilz Rejects anymore. This should be an interesting match considering both of these teams are battling for the postseason, which is something that I would not have assumed after how the first few stops panned out.
Prediction: I think Tribe will take this one. They have a good chance at taking at least 30 and getting another step closer to locking in that playoff spot.
City Morgue (2nd | 229-131) vs Royalty On Da Lanes (6th | 193-167)
It’s nice that City Morgue is already preparing for the playoffs. I just hope that they don’t forget 1) that they actually have to get through the rest of the regular season first and 2) what it was that actually got them there last year. Royalty On Da Lanes will be looking to hand Morgue their second consecutive loss on Sunday – can they do it?
Prediction: I don’t think Morgue will drop the ball two stops in a row, so they will more than likely pull out the win here, but RODL definitely wants revenge in this rematch from the position round back in January… this one should be close.
Controlled Chaos (1st | 234-126) vs Apocalypse (4th | 216-244)
Okay, Controlled Chaos. I see you. Here’s another match that has the potential of being repeated in a few months in the finale/position round, or even during the playoffs – Apocalypse is another powerhouse team. This is definitely a match that we should all be paying attention to.
Prediction: I know they don’t want me to, but I think Controlled Chaos wins this match, possibly with enough points to separate 1st and 2nd a little more than the current standings… but did I just jinx you guys? We’ll see in a few days.
BOA (8th | 165-195) vs Class aXe (5th | 198-162)
If there is one thing I am absolutely certain of, it’s this – regardless of what I predict, someone on Class aXe will have something to say about it. Which is really weird because apparently nobody reads these articles that I waste my time writing.
Prediction: Class aXe is the stronger team, and (finally) making a solid run at playoffs. A big win here will bring them one step closer to the postseason. I think they take at least 30 points against BOA in this match, despite what everyone may or may not want the outcome to be.
Da Royalty (10th | 157-203) vs Secret Invasion (11th | 140-220)
This match, on paper, looks like it will be a close one. But that necessarily isn’t the case. Da Royalty is another team local to the Schenectady area, and Secret Invasion has not won a match since the end of last year. I think these factors will weigh heavily in this one.
Prediction: Da Royalty wins this match, possibly with enough points to jump a couple of spots in the rankings. But is it too late for my dark horse pick to make a move towards the postseason? I guess we’ll see.
I just realized that I haven’t used the word “protest” yet in this article, so I better do it before someone protests that fact. With that said, I am putting the chances of some sort of shenanigans occurring at this stop at 62.8% – I know some of you guys like it when I use numbers, so there ya go.
PS – we’re setting up the tailgate at 8:30am this time around so if you’re out here early, make sure you come through!
