Here are the results from Tour Stop 6 in the NJ Shore District
Replacements: 36, Strike City: 4
Let’s make this blunt: Strike City gets shellacked due to an 806 from Amanda Nardiello and 7’s from George Williams (299/779), Brett Strycharz (738), Ed Carragher (729) and Anthony Buzcynzski Jr (708). Once upon a time, Strike City used to run the joint, and while Jason Cizewski (750) and Nikki Van Gorden (721) score for SC, they fall to 6th as they get whacked on the wood by 486.
Team Matrix: 32, Powerhouse: 8
Two teams are looking to try to make a run at The Replacements, and Matrix takes the wood by 67. Matthew Gibney’s 762, Rob Sherman’s 731, Bob Dail Jr’s 730 and Ernest Lukac Jrs’ 723 is just enough as Matrix jump in second. Powerhouse gets a 757 from Stephen Lella, a 724 from Ed Prince and a 705 from Tyrone Curry, but it’s not enough as they fall to 3rd and see Matrix jump over them.
Train Wreck: 34, Alter Ego: 6
Michael Valanzano and Eric Nilson shoot matching 740’s while Courtney Tirado adds a 729 as The Train keeps rumbling up to 4th. No 7’s for Alter Ego as they plunge to 10th.
Tom’s River Rats: 36, Ocean Wave: 4
Chris J. Jones (765) and Michael Guzman (747) lead the Rats to wipe out the Wave, with a combination of that and better supporting scores. Why? Because Phil Garron (755) and Vincent Dali Jr (722) get complemented by a combined 447 pins under average by everyone else. the Wave, 6-74 for the past 2 tour stops, get drenched down to 8th while the Rats are only 3 points behind the last playoff spot.
Goon Squad: 34, We’ve Been Framed: 6
The Goon Squad has been sleeping all season, but they finally wake up, care of William WIllard (732), George Hart (729), John Kertesz (727) and Richard Funk III (700). WBF don’t get and 7’s so they fall out of a playoff spot in a match that they may want back when June rolls around. The Goonies remain in 11th but finally get their first tour stop win of the year. Yay!
Chozen Generation: 30, About That Money: 10
Gregory Charland’s 739 gives Chozen Generation the wood by 47 as they move up to 9th. ATM does get a 728 from Lauren Sheridan, a 717 from Stewart Henry Jr and a 700 from David Lee – but they also get a combined 479 pins under average from everyone else as they remain in the basement, still looking for their first tour stop win since Match #1.
