OUTRAGE: 36, APEX PREDATORS: 4
Any thought of APEX pulling off the upset ended quickly and brutally as Outrage took control from the get go. Eric Wallace was a man possessed, going 256 / 300 / 300 for an 856 series. WOW. No one else shot a 7 or better for Outrage – yet they didn’t need to (though they were helped out by no one on Apex shooting a 7 or better either). Outrage remains undefeated in District Play while APEX, who could have taken over first with a win, fall to third.
IMPACT: 32, DA STONERS: 8
Impact is showing that they aren’t going anywhere. Scott Rehm bolts out a 716 for Impact, who win the match by 336 pins. Only 2 people break a 650 for Da Stoners as they remain in the basement. Impact’s 26 deficit could be wiped out when Outrage has their bye – keep in mind that Impact, who are 3-0 in district play, has already had their bye, so Outrage may have some competition this season.
THE EXPENDABLES: 28, HOT POCKETS: 12
The Pockets are cooled off as they take their first L of the season. Robert Hopkins’ 714 series gives the Expendables the wood by 40 and moves them up to 4th. Chris Moore’s 728 and William Little Jr.’s 287 give them some points, but for lack of 41 pins they drop to 5th.
CHARM CITY CHAOS 26, VIPERS: 14
You see the previous article? Replace The Hot Pocket with the Vipers as no one shoots a 6 while they take their first loss (and how they got 14 points out of THAT is beyond me). Replace The Expendables with CCC, as they win by 196 and get their first win of the season. Ok. moving on….
NWO WOLFPACK: 28, KILLER KEGLERS: 12
You would think that winning a trio pair by 254 pins would give you the win, right? Not when your other 2 trios shoot a combined 354 pins under average, which causes you to get blown out by 374 pins and lose the wood by 120 in the process. The Wolfpack take advantage of this debacle and get to mid-pack, while the Keglers are still looking for win #1.
PIN KRUSHERS: 26, MUTINY: 14
The Pin Krushers get off the schneid and get win #1. They get it despite a 700 from David Jones Jr because they dominate the last handicap trio by 210 pins. And they do that (and jump over Mutiny in the process) because two of Mutiny’s bowlers in that trio shoot more than 300 pins under average COMBINED (I will not mention those guys because we don’t do bowler shaming here, but I’m sure they will be tattled on by the people in the UBA, so….(shrugs))
