James Kniffen (Sub Zero) vs Josh Pittman (GOAT)
Date: Sunday December 13, 2020 after Team Rankings squad at High Point Bowling Center
This is a highly anticipated match, and outside of his matches vs Dennis Killough, probably Kniffen’s toughest defense since winning the belt from Dre Gaither.
Let me break the bowlers down for you:
James Kniffen (Sub Zero) – Last year before the world shut down, he won match after match after match defending the Southeast Championship against foes such as Lee Robison, Bryson Rogers and Rob Mays. He also defeated Northeast Challenger Alex Prell on his way to a World Title match vs Dennis Killough. But none of those have the UBA pedigree of Josh Pittman. I truly think this will be the biggest test for James. Something else that is very much a factor: Last year during James run, he was on Hitmen; he is now on Sub Zero. What difference will the team change have on his performance? One would assume none, but it has to be noted.
Josh Pittman (GOAT) – Josh has beaten his fair share of great opponents over the years. It’s probably easier to find a list of who he “HAS NOT” beaten than the list that he has. Josh has been bowling pretty good as of late. But so has his opponent. Can Josh’s pedigree carry him to this victory?
Decker Prediction: I believe James is going to come out swinging early, but I also believe Josh will too. I think the first 3-4 games will be decided in the 10th frame. However, after that point, it becomes a real match of who can make the adjustments when needed. In the past, James has had some help from his former team on these adjustments. Will he have that some advice from his new team? I believe the new team is louder and will be tough to contend with, but will they give him the same things that have helped him win his matches in the past? My prediction: James Kniffen in 7
