Lots ow news to cover, so let’s start covering it.
1. NEW YORK IS NOW OPEN
A lot of people are thrilled about it. But what does it mean? What are the restrictions? Tournaments? Leagues? We’ll be chatting about it on thie week’s Bracketology.
2. Nationwide is continuing to open up.
Bowler City, Hudson and Linden lanes opened up this weekend successfully. The next question is what’s going on with leagues? As of right now, they are still going on strong, which gives people a chance to get their game on and shake off the 6 month rust.
3. Huge weekend for Pepe
On Saturday, Anthony Pepe won the PBA Regional at AMF Perry Hall Lanes in Baltimore. On Sunday, Pepe won the NEBA Open in Fairfield CT. His reward? Besides the 2 paychecks? He gets to quarantine for 2 weeks. Teasing. Sort of.
4. CT is getting hot. In a good way.
One of the complaints that have been around for awhile is that people don’t like to go to CT for tournaments. based on The NEBA turn out and the emergence of things to do in the Nutmeg State, this is no longer starting to be the case. And just a reminder that Foxwoods DOES have a bowling alley. Heh.
5. Phase 5
For other states besides NY, Phase 5 is starting up this week, which means more alleys may be opening. In North Carolina (which has not happened yet), people may be eyeballing what’s going on in the northeast as the litigation on when the alleys in NC may be opening up. Will they? Stay tuned…
